DoctorNow API

Integuru generates a production-ready HTTP API for DoctorNow, the DocNow post-acute EHR used by physician groups rounding in skilled nursing, long-term care and home health facilities. 2 verified actions list the facilities a login can see and the patients in each one, filtered by name and status, for census dashboards, AI documentation tools and billing reconciliation.

Does DoctorNow have a public API?

DocNow, the post-acute EHR behind the DoctorNow login, publishes no developer API or public documentation. Data reaches other systems through partner integrations with the facility EMRs its clinicians round in, which a physician group cannot self-serve. Integuru generates a production-ready HTTP API from your own DoctorNow login, with 2 verified actions that return the facilities you cover and the patients in each.

Those integrations exist for the building's EMR, which is the wrong direction for a group that needs its own census. A practice covering forty skilled nursing facilities wants one call per building that returns who is on the list today. Integuru makes that call as a direct HTTP request against your tenant, authenticated, using your own credentials, with the login flow and any second factor handled for you.

What you can do with the DoctorNow API

A rounding physician group's operations lead starts each day by reconciling three lists: who is in each facility, who the group has seen, and who has been billed. The two actions supply the first list.

Enumerate the buildings a login can see

  • list_facilities returns facilities with active_only defaulting to true, a case-insensitive name filter that also matches the city, and page plus page_size (default 100).

Pull each facility's census

  • list_patients returns patients for a facility_id, filtered by name and by status (default Current), paginated the same way. Omit facility_id and it reads the first facility the user is logged into.

Who uses this

Post-acute physician groups build census dashboards by calling list_facilities once and list_patients per facility, then diffing against yesterday to catch admissions and discharges before rounds. AI documentation tools resolve the facility and patient before drafting a note, so the draft lands on the right resident. Billing teams reconcile the census against submitted claims and pair this page with the Wellsky integration for home health episodes and the Medsender integration for the faxes that still carry orders. The healthcare industry page covers post-acute and home care as one workflow.

Setup notes

Integuru authenticates against your DocNow tenant, which sits on a per-tenant subdomain of app.doctornow.io (the verified account uses the ns prefix). Both actions are reads with defaults that work on a first call and no required parameters. For a multi-facility group, iterate the facility_id values from list_facilities rather than relying on the default facility, and pass status explicitly if you need former residents. Admissions, notes and orders are built on request.

Get started

Install the CLI and connect your DoctorNow login:

npm install -g integuru

Or sign in at app.integuru.com, add DoctorNow, and call list_facilities from the dashboard. For writes into the chart, the Managed Service scopes and builds those actions against your tenant.

Good to know

Before you start

Can I use it today?
Yes. Every action listed above has been verified against live DoctorNow traffic. Install the CLI or sign in at app.integuru.com, connect your DoctorNow account, and start calling the endpoints.
What if DoctorNow changes or breaks?
On Production plans the Integuru team is on call around the clock, with auth auto-healing included, so target-platform changes get fixed by Integuru rather than by your engineers.
What does it cost?
Start on the Free plan at $0/month with 100 API calls/month. Production starts at $499/month with 24/7 on-call maintenance and auth auto-healing.
