XtraChef API

Integuru generates a production-ready HTTP API for XtraChef, the invoice processing and food-cost platform, for restaurant operators and back-office tools that need recipe costs and purchased items from code. 3 verified actions cover recipe food costs ranked and filtered by type, the purchased item list filtered by vendor and category, and the location list that scopes both.

The actions above cover the most common XtraChef integration patterns, but they're not the full picture. Integuru can build additional workflows for any capability the platform exposes. XtraChef integration guide

Does XtraChef have a public API?

xtraCHEF publishes no developer API. There is no portal, no REST reference and no self-serve key; integrations are switched on by support, and most accounting hand-offs are file based. Integuru generates a production-ready HTTP API for XtraChef from your own login, with 3 verified actions covering recipe food costs, purchased items and locations. Both data actions paginate and filter, so a nightly pull is a handful of calls.

What you can do with the XtraChef API

A chef who wants to know which menu items lost margin this week opens the recipe costing screen and sorts by cost. get_food_costs is that screen: rank recipes with order_by and sort, narrow with search and type_filter, page through 50 at a time, and scope to a location_id or let it auto-detect.

The purchasing manager who wants to see every item bought from one supplier uses list_items with vendor_ids, optionally category_ids, and search on a description or product code. list_locations returns the locations that both actions accept.

Who uses this

Menu engineering tools pull get_food_costs for every location nightly and plot recipe cost against sales mix from the POS. Purchasing teams reconcile list_items filtered by vendor_ids against the invoices they pulled directly from the US Foods or Performance Food portals. Operators who run xtraCHEF for invoices and another tool for inventory pair this page with MarginEdge, COGS-Well or WISK to keep costs consistent across systems. The restaurants industry page covers how invoice capture feeds food cost.

Setup notes

Integuru authenticates against app.xtrachef.com with your xtraCHEF user. All parameters are optional; a bare get_food_costs call returns the first 50 recipes for the auto-detected location. type_filter, vendor_ids and category_ids are arrays, and pages are 1-based.

Get started

Install the CLI and connect your XtraChef login:

npm install -g integuru

Or sign in at app.integuru.com, add XtraChef, and call the same 3 actions from the dashboard. For invoice-level data or other screens this page does not cover, the Managed Service scopes and builds the action against your account.

Good to know

Before you start

Can I use it today?
Yes. Every action listed above has been verified against live XtraChef traffic. Install the CLI or sign in at app.integuru.com, connect your XtraChef account, and start calling the endpoints.
What if XtraChef changes or breaks?
On Production plans the Integuru team is on call around the clock, with auth auto-healing included, so target-platform changes get fixed by Integuru rather than by your engineers.
What does it cost?
Start on the Free plan at $0/month with 100 API calls/month. Production starts at $499/month with 24/7 on-call maintenance and auth auto-healing.
